Honorary Chairs, Cricket Jones and Alan Jones, Dean Emeritus of Grace Cathedral

A Virtual Night of Light, All Together in Spirit

Thank you to everyone who attended our first ever, virtual Night of Light!

This year's event was hosted from home by our honorary chairs and dedicated supporters, Cricket Jones and Alan Jones, Dean Emeritus of Grace Cathedral and honored the dedication and devotion of the frontline responders to the COVID-19 pandemic and all who struggle for racial justice in the Diocese of California.

Over 350 people joined us online for an exceptional evening filled with music, inspirational stories, and tremendous generosity that garnered over $350,00 in support of the Impact Fund's mission: addressing the root causes of intergenerational poverty throughout the Bay Area.

If you weren't able to attend the event, we invite you to watch this recording.

Grantee Spotlight

This has been a uniquely challenging year and your support allows us to meet those challenges head-on as we provided assistance to 100+ non-profit organizations, including Monument Crisis Center, Youth Spirit Artworks and Marin Interfaith Street Chaplaincy, and every congregations in the Diocese of California.

Monument Crisis Center is an East Bay family resource center whose mission is to provide food, education, referrals and other assistance to families and individuals in crises. MCC also promotes community awareness of needs and available resources for at-risk and low-income people in Contra Costa County.

In response to the community need during the pandemic, Monument Crisis Center activated a disaster plan for emergency food distribution, providing groceries and other necessities to those in need three times a week.

Episcopal Impact Fund has been a proud and long-term supporter of Monument Crisis Center.

Youth Spirit Artworks (YSA) is an interfaith “green” art jobs and job training program located in Berkeley and committed to empowering homeless and low-income youth. In response to the youth housing crisis--there are an estimated 1700 homeless youth In Alameda County, with only 36 youth-designated beds--, YSA’s young people initiated a Tiny House Project to build affordable housing.

Each youth living in the Tiny Home village will be fully integrated into YSA's job training program and have access to  wrap-around services and case management. Over three years, youth will transition from homelessness/unstable housing to financial self-sufficiency and stability.

Episcopal Impact Fund’s grant will provide the funding to build the communal dining yurt at the Tiny Home Village.

The Marin Interfaith Street Chaplaincy has a two-fold mission. One is to build bridges of support for unsheltered persons in Marin County. The second is to foster community between the homeless and the faith community in Marin. The Street Chaplain meets homeless where they are – on the street, in motels/hotels, and shelters and provides support by connecting them to housing, medical care, and financial assistance.

Episcopal Impact Fund’s grant allowed the Street Chaplaincy to hire a part-time chaplain, Rev. Marty Tracy, to minister directly to those experiencing homelessness.
