Night of Light 2016 gala raises funds to address Bay Area poverty
Thank you to everyone who joined us at our 2016 Night of Light gala at the Four Seasons Hotel in San Francisco!
This year's event honored Charlotte and George Shultz and raised funds to advance our mission of supporting nonprofit organizations that are advancing pathways out of poverty in the San Francisco Bay Area. Over 250 people attended the gala and enjoyed an evening of cocktails, live music, dinner, and dancing. The program highlighted local environmental projects that we have supported and included a conversation between Bishop Marc Andrus and Secretary Shultz on climate change.
When asked what the faith community’s role should be in climate change, Secretary Shultz underscored the importance of involvement: “The issue of what kind of a world we are going to provide for our grandchildren is the kind of thing that the faith community should be interested in. It’s not political. It’s the world we’re going to live in and the world our children are going to live in.”
